A TSA lock is a special security device that allows luggage content to be secured. Since 2001, the American TSA (Transportation Security Administration) has been scanning every piece of checked luggage on all flights and conducting manual searches. Security officers are authorized to break standard locks or, for TSA locks, to use a master key that only they possess.
